ABOUT US.

Our Story.

Why we started, where we have been & where we are going.

WHY WE STARTED?

The Natalie Kate Moss Trust was set up in 2012 by the Moss family following the sudden death of Natalie at the age of 26 after an unexpected Brain Haemorrhage.

WHAT WE DO?

Focusing on turning this tragedy into something positive, our mission is to empower you to understand how to prevent lifestyle related brain haemorrhages from occurring, whilst generating funds to support ground breaking research to treat them when they do.

By joining forces with Manchester University, we support groundbreaking research into Stroke at the University whose vision is to improve outcome after a brain haemorrhages.

Since 2012, through the fundraising of the Natalie Kate Moss Trust, there have been significant advances in the research at Manchester University as funding has increased year on year.

WE ARE ON A MISSION TO PREVENT MORE TRAGEDIES OCCURING FROM BRAIN HAEMORRHAGE.

…by making it the norm for everyone to check their blood pressure regularly, and understand how to manage it through their lifestyle.

…by generating funds to support ground-breaking research at Manchester University to save more lives after a brain haemorrhages.

PREVENTION.

Not all brain haemorrhages are preventable.

But many are caused due to unhealthy lifestyle and according to STROKE UK, Hyper tension (high blood pressure), is the biggest cause of lifestyle related brain haemorrhages. We want to educate people about brain haemorrhages, to prevent as many lifestyle related brain haemorrhages from happening as possible.

This is why we are running our ‘CHECK YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE’ Campaign.

“The donations made by the Natalie Kate Moss Trust since 2012, have not only allowed us at Manchester University to fund more researchers, increase our capacity, enable more collaboration, but also leverage further funding, ultimately supporting developments in our research.

Treatment.

Following a brain haemorrhage…

within one month only 3 out of 5 patients will survive

…a statistic that has not changed in 40 years.

In contrast breast cancer survival has doubled in that same period, with four out of five patients surviving at 10 years.

This is why the research at Manchester University is so critical to finding a treatment to improving the outcome after someone experiences a brain haemorrhage.

Since 2012, NKMT have been working in partnership with Manchester University to help fund this groundbreaking research and over the last 11 years their research has gone from strength to strength.
