Our Incredible Runners and Their Story.

Every mile run, every step taken, and every blister earned by our amazing runners brings us closer to a world where fewer lives are lost to brain haemorrhages.

We're so proud to have had such passionate, dedicated individuals lace up their trainers and take on everything from 5Ks to marathons – all in support of our life-saving research and awareness work at NKMT.

We’re shining a spotlight on some of the inspiring people who have run in memory of loved ones, to raise awareness, or simply because they believe in our mission. Their stories, strength, and commitment fuel the heart of our charity.

"In 2022 I suddenly lost my Mum, Róisín, to a brain haemorrhage. This completely turned mine and my family’s lives upside down as she was only 51 and very healthy. She was the kindest person I ever knew and everyone who met her would have said the same!

After taking some time to grieve I decided i wanted to do something in her memory and something I could put my grief into. This is how I found the NKMT and signed up to run the Newcastle 10K. I knew straight away that I wanted to try and help prevent other families from going through what mine has! I managed to raise £1050 which I am so pleased with and proud of!

I will definitely be fundraising for this charity again!"
