PREVENT THE PREVENTABLE.

Supporting your colleagues health with interactive sessions to help educate them on blood pressure and improve their lifestyle habits to reduce the risk of brain haemorrhages.

Corporate Lunch & Learn Awareness Events.

The Natalie Kate Moss Trust is on a mission to prevent as many brain hemorrhages from occurring as possible.

Whilst not all brain haemorrhages are preventable, high blood pressure is the leading cause of lifestyle related brain haemorrhages.

But on average 50% of people who have high blood pressure are un-diagnosed due to lack of understanding about the risks, lack of monitoring and lack of access to monitors to test.

We therefore need to improve the understanding of the risks of blood pressure and improve the habits and behaviours of more people around checking their blood pressure to reduce these numbers and prevent more tragedies from happening.

The Natalie Kate Moss Trust works with companies to deliver ‘Lunch & Lunch’ style sessions to improve their colleagues understanding of blood pressure, whilst educating them on the ‘how-to’s’ of blood pressure management.

Let’s support your colleagues too.

“Very informative and it's fantastic work that you're doing, thank you.”

“The session was very helpful, informative and clear and has completely changed how I view my blood pressure. I will definitely start to record and monitor what my blood pressure is more regularly now.”

“It's brought a real awareness to 25 people, and subsequently their families and friends about how important it is to look after your blood pressure and keep and eye on it.”

“Very informative, insightful and helpful. Presented very well and got the point across as to how important it is to have your blood pressure checked even if you feel fit and healthy.”

What’s Involved?

This session is 45 minutes long and designed to fit into your colleagues Lunch Hour or easily over a breakfast meeting.

The group will be taken through a talk about:

  • The facts around brain haemorrhages and high blood pressure and the associated risks.

  • The ‘How to’s’ of checking your blood pressure.

  • Lifestyle factors that can contribute to maintaining a normal blood pressure level.

The group will also be able to check their own blood pressure on the day.

There are no size restrictions for the size of the group.

As we are sure you can appreciate, running these sessions incurs costs and so to run this session we simply ask for a donation of £100.

The Facts.

  • 3 million brain haemorrhages a year (more than breast and lung cancer combined!)

  • Only 3 out of 5 people will survive within one month of a brain haemorrhage

  • High blood pressure is the leading cause of lifestyle related brain haemorrhages.

  • On average high blood pressure affects a third of a population, with 50% of those people undiagnosed.

  • High blood pressure can affect all ages with the highest percentage of undiagnosed cases occuring in the age group 16-35.

  • An individual can still have high blood pressure even if they are not overweight, do not smoke, are young and would self diagnose themselves as being in ‘good health’.

  • High blood pressure costs the NHS £2billion pounds a year - a staggering figure that could be reduced if we took collective responsibility to manage our own blood pressure better.
