Real Life Stories: “I had a brain bleed during the birth of my daughter”.

"I had a brain bleed during the birth of my daughter, my first child, it was a total shock as I was a low risk healthy pregnancy.

It's been a very bumpy road to recovery. I was initially paralysed on my entire left side and slowly regained movement with the help of physiotherapy and my husband. When I was discharged from NHS care I found a private physio to continue recovery and that's helped me get to where i am today.

My daughter who is now an energetic toddler keeps me active and she has massively helped me tackle the mental health side of things as I had PTSD and severe depression following the stroke.

A supportive family and home environment is so important after stroke. I’m continuing to progress in recovery with the help from my loved ones and my daughter as my motivation.”
