On Saturday 20th April, The Natalie Kate Moss Trust held their latest Fundraising Event, Through the Looking Glass, raising over £48,000.
Whilst the focus of the event was to raise funds for, and also awareness of The Natalie Kate Moss Trust, guests were promised an evening unlike anything that had experienced before. And it certainly did not disappoint; with Alice in Wonderland themed characters roaming the venue, a cake eating competition to win a holiday, a tarot card reader, giant chess… the list goes on.
“Because who said Fundraising has to be boring?” Fiona Moss, NKMT Director asked.
“It really was an incredible evening, and as well as being a fabulous party, the interspersing of poignant messages regarding brain haemorrhages and the devastation they leave behind was so well balanced.”

But despite all the humour and fun, when addressing the audience, Fiona Moss, NKMT Director laid out the reality of Brain Haemorrhages.
Every year 4.6 million people suffer from a brain haemorrhage.
…4.6 million people is the same number of people as the population of Manchester, and Liverpool and Newcastle combined.
…4.6 million people is more than the number of cases annually of breast cancer and lung cancer combined.
…4.6 million people lives being ripped apart from Brain Haemorrhages and only 3 out of 5 of them will make it past the first month, let alone whether they will make it to 6 months, or a year.
And as Fiona Moss spoke about the reality of Brain Haemorrhages, she simultaneously talked through the opportunity that is in front of all them right now to change these statistics through the work at NKMT and the research at Manchester. Updating those attending on the significant progress of NKMT over the last 18 months, she demonstrated what can be done when more focus is placed on this area of research.
But, she outlined a very real truth; that despite all the will in the world, the team at The Natalie Kate moss Trust cannot change these devastating statistics alone.

Fiona Moss, NKMT Director addresses the audience
“ But to move forward we need our voice to be heard by more people - because with a louder voice we can better educate on the reality of brain haemorrhages, we can generate more funds to support the life saving research at the University of Manchester, and we can further establish our Prevention campaign to stop more brain haemorrhages from happening in the first place.
But the truth is, we can’t do this all alone. And so we ask you, will you be a part of the solution? “
And with an immense level of support, the audience responded. Pledging their money and support to help NKMT do the work that has been needed for far too many years to better prevent and treat Brain Haemorrhages and to change these devastating statistics.
An immensely successful evening that demonstrated what The Natalie Kate Moss Trust are about and how they are focused on standing out in a very noisy charity sector to create real change when it comes to Haemorrhagic Stroke.
The evening was made possible by the incredible support of our Headlines Sponsors Fieldfisher and PS2 Media whose support was invaluable in running this event.
And it is the support of such companies who really do help in enabling us to run such events, to raise funds for the research being done at The University of Manchester and to make the progress and the impact that we are making. Find out how to become a corporate partner.
