On behalf of everyone at the Natalie Kate Moss Trust (NKMT), we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the team at Suzanne Dennis Optometrist and to all of their patients who supported their recent fundraising event in aid of NKMT, raising an incredible £1,300. These funds will go directly towards funding vital research into brain haemorrhages, as well as raising awareness of this often hidden but potentially life-threatening condition.
From October 14 to 19, Suzanne Dennis Optometrist hosted a week-long series of workshops across their three practices in Parbold, Standish, and Eccleston. These workshops focused on raising awareness about brain haemorrhages and educating the public on the importance of monitoring blood pressure—something that can often be overlooked in routine health checks.
Throughout the week, Suzanne Dennis Optometrist’s team offered free blood pressure monitoring and shared valuable information on how conditions like high blood pressure can sometimes be indicative of more serious health issues, such as brain haemorrhages. This was a great opportunity for patients to better understand the links between eye health and overall health, with optometrists playing a key role in spotting early warning signs during routine eye exams.
We are particularly grateful for the optometrists’ commitment to supporting the charity in such a hands-on and meaningful way. As Joe Higham, co-director of Suzanne Dennis Optometrist, explained:
“Optometrists are in a unique position to detect changes in the blood vessels in the eye, which can indicate issues like high blood pressure—conditions that are linked to brain haemorrhages”
The event allowed them to raise awareness of this crucial connection and encourage more people to take action on their health.
As part of the event, Suzanne Dennis Optometrist generously pledged to donate £50 to the NKMT for every spectacle purchase over £399. Patients responded with incredible generosity, helping to make the event a success. The event also featured an exciting raffle, with prizes including luxurious Tom Ford sunglasses and perfume, generously donated by Tom Ford. This combination of charitable giving, patient incentives, and luxurious prizes helped raise awareness for brain haemorrhage research in a truly memorable way.
Continuing the Journey Together in 2025

It has been a true pleasure for us to partner with Suzanne Dennis Optometrist throughout 2024. Their commitment to our cause has been unwavering, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the impact they have made, both financially and in terms of spreading awareness. The success of this October’s event is just the latest in a series of fundraising activities they’ve hosted on our behalf; Joe Higham, Jade, and Ian Conway completed a 10k run in Manchester earlier this year, and Joe will be taking part in a half marathon this October, with plans for a half marathon in Paris next year. We are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support and commitment to raising awareness and funds to help us continue our vital work.
As we look forward to 2025, we are excited to continue our partnership with Suzanne Dennis Optometrist and their dedicated team. Together, we can raise even more awareness and funding to further our mission of improving the prevention, detection, and treatment of brain haemorrhages.
Thank you once to everyone who took part in this event, whether through a donation, a purchase, or simply spreading the word. Your support truly makes a difference in the lives of so many, and we are so grateful to have you as part of the NKMT family.
