In 2024, The Natalie Kate Moss Trust moved from strength to strength as their corporate support grew by 716% vs 2023 and helped to further elevate NKMT’s work to better prevent and treat brain haemorrhages.

The number of corporate partnerships that NKMT has developed in 2024 has provided more financial resources to the charity which has enabled them to continue to fund essential research into life-saving treatment at Manchester University, increase the impact of their brain haemorrhage prevention campaign and also grow the NKMT team.

Below are just some examples of the partnerships that they have developed this year and how these partnerships have supported NKMT’s mission to better prevent and treat brain haemorrhages.

Hugh James Solicitors and Colony Coworking

Hugh James Solicitors and Colony Coworking were both instrumental in developing NKMT’s prevention campaign by supporting their ‘Prevent the Preventable’ podcast. This new podcast dives deeper into brain haemorrhage awareness and what can be done to help prevent it. Enabling NKMT to deliver this message to a wider audience is significant in the development of its prevention campaign.

Walmsley’s

Walmsley’s Insurance Brokers re-signed as an NKMT partner, reinforcing their ongoing dedication to the cause. Walmsleys have funded a very specific research project at The Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre, Manchester University, to help fund the use of a MRI for a specific project which looks at finding new ways to repair the brain after intracerebral haemorrhage. This renewed commitment is a testament to the long-term impact such partnerships can have, allowing NKMT to fund ambitious, multi-year projects that yield significant insights into brain haemorrhage prevention.

Chapel Press – Principal Partner

Chapel Press became a principal partner of NKMT this year, taking a prominent role in supporting the trust’s operations. By supporting NKMT with their printing they are not only significantly helping the charity financially but also with their outreach, as they continue to develop more awareness of brain haemorrhages.

Slater and Gordon

Slater and Gordon kindly hosted an insightful panel discussion for NKMT’s corporate partners and supporters, which spotlighted the groundbreaking work in brain haemorrhage research at The University of Manchester and the vital importance of better preventative measures and management of blood pressure; this panel reiterated to the charity’s partners just how vital their support is.

Suzanne Dennis

Suzanne Dennis have not only committed a whole year of fundraising to NKMT, having named the charity as their Charity of the Year but they have also attended multiple events, hosting a blood awareness event at their stores and kindly supported with raffle prizes throughout the year.

SJP Foundation

The St. James's Place (SJP) Foundation has offered invaluable support to NKMT with a generous grant. This funding enables NKMT to continue financing cutting-edge research at top institutions like The University of Manchester’s Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre, where scientists work tirelessly to find new methods of preventing and treating brain haemorrhages. Contributions from partners like the SJP Foundation allow NKMT to stay at the forefront of brain research, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the field.

NKMT’s partnerships are very much a partnership with these alliances being mutually beneficial; as these companies not only contribute to a vital cause but also, through their support, they are fulfilling their corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives. Moreover, NKMT supports their partners with sessions such as Blood Pressure Awareness Events and volunteering opportunities, further contributing to the companies’ employee well-being policies.

NKMT’s partnerships stand as examples of how corporate alliances can amplify the impact of charitable organisations while fostering community engagement and supporting employee well-being for businesses.

How Funding Drives NKMT’s Mission

Thanks to the dedication of their corporate partners, NKMT can contribute significantly to breakthrough research that might otherwise be unattainable. Every corporate partnership NKMT secured translates into new opportunities to understand and treat brain haemorrhages, giving hope to countless families.

Moreover, the success of NKMT’s prevention campaigns also depends heavily on this funding. The trust aims to educate the public on blood pressure management to better prevent brain haemorrhages and save lives.

NKMT’s partnerships reflect how powerful collaboration can be in driving positive change.

Every partner contributes to a shared mission: to reduce the devastating effects of brain haemorrhages. Through these partnerships, NKMT has been able to honour Natalie Moss’s legacy by making strides in a field that holds the potential to protect future generations.

Corporate partnerships are the lifeblood of NKMT, enabling it to carry out life-saving work. As NKMT continues to forge relationships with dedicated partners, the trust will undoubtedly see further advancements in research and prevention campaigns, all fueled by the commitment of those who believe in the mission. By working together, NKMT and its partners create a lasting impact, embodying the true spirit of collaborative philanthropy.

Seeking Corporate Support for 2025

NKMT are looking for further support in 2025 in the key areas below:

  • Introducing Blood Pressure to School's Curriculum High blood pressure is not an old person's problem; the age group 16 -35 has the highest percentage of undiagnosed cases proportionally to the number of cases (Source: Centre National Statistics).

Unfortunately, younger generations often get missed out on the conversation around blood pressure and as there are no symptoms that appear with hypertension, they can be significantly at risk of something devastating happening to them because they are not checking their blood pressure. It is therefore critical that we start educating from a younger age. In 2025, NKMT is looking to roll out a programme to go into the school's PSHE curriculum which discusses blood pressure and the importance of checking, to create a major systemic shift in our society's understanding of hypertension and its risks. This project already has the support of The University of Manchester, the MP of Rusholme, Afzal Khan, and many headmasters.

  • Support The Running of Awareness Days NKMT regularly run Awareness days (e.g. in the city centre, at Universities, at expeditions etc) where NKMT check the blood pressure of the public and speaks to them one-on-one about the risks of having high blood pressure. They typically test around 350 people per event. In 2025, they aim to hold 3 events monthly, reaching nearly 12,600 people annually and diagnosing 2,000 cases of undiagnosed hypertension. Currently, as a charity, they cannot run 3 awareness events every month and therefore would require a team to solely run these events. They are therefore seeking a company to support these events financially, enabling them to hire a team to run them and cover costs e.g. council fees, and exhibition fees that are sometimes required to run such events.

  • Support research projects at The University of Manchester Directly support the research being done at The University of Manchester and sponsor specific aspects of the research.
