Hypertension Month

May is Hypertension month and so for the entire month we will be driving more awareness about the importance of checking your blood pressure, how to manage it and how that can help to prevent a Brain Haemorrhage (as well as countless other health complications). But what else can you expect in May…?

At the Natalie Kate Moss Trust we firmly believe that, whilst not all brain haemorrhages are preventable, some are.

High blood pressure is the leading cause of lifestyle related brain haemorrhage, but on average a third of people have high blood pressure and 50% of those people don’t know they have high blood pressure.

Therefore, our mission at The Natalie Kate Moss Trust is simple: to encourage more people to regularly check their blood pressure, so to reduce the number of people at risk of not just a brain haemorrhage, but countless other health complications.

That is why this May, for Hypertension Month, NKMT will be doing nothing but shouting about the importance of checking your blood pressure. And by now you should know that NKMT doesn’t do anything normally, so why would you expect anything different for Hypertension Month.

Throughout May, we will be spreading the word about the importance of blood pressure management by collaborating with a number of influencers online, running seminars in companies and getting to the streets of Clapham Junction to talk to you guys about what you know about blood pressure. You can even get involved in an online competition, where you can win a treadmill (yes, a treadmill!) (keep a close eye on our Instagram on May 2nd for this).

Or you can join us in Manchester where we will be running a ‘Blood Pressure Check’ stand, speaking to the public about the importance of regularly checking their blood pressure and how high blood pressure can potentially cause a devastating brain haemorrhage. Join on 2 dates; at the University of Manchester on May 7th or on Market Street, Manchester on May 30th and come and get your blood pressure checked , whilst listening to some incredible live music.

…If you have been to one of these live events before you know how much fun they are - check out our last one in Manchester here.
